On Friday, September 11th State Representative Will Guzzardi will join with a number of elected officials and Census ambassadors from Chicago’s Northwest Side to put on a ‘Census Celebration Day’ from 3:00 - 6:00pm at Metropolitan Family Services, 3249 North Central Ave. (parking lot).
The event will feature Census Ambassadors in English and Spanish who can help community members complete their Census on the spot. It will also include a school supplies giveaway, free masks and PPE, an opportunity to enter the Ultimate Quinceañera challenge to win a free quinceañera and other raffle prizes. There will be free paletas and elotes for everyone who completes their Census.
This event will target communities in the 39th House district and surrounding areas which currently have a Census response rate of around 25%. With under a month left to get a complete count of the community it’s important to make sure everyone is completing their Census.
